Saratoga Avenue Medians, Santa Clara*
The City of Santa Clara wanted to create more defined entryways into the City. Our designers were requested to provide landscape architectural design to improve several large medians along Saratoga Avenue. For this project, we created a unifying vocabulary of the materials used. For the median between Los Padres Boulevard and Pruneridge Avenue, over 2,000 lineal feet, we worked within the limited space to provide landscape planting, trellis structures, concrete pedestals, rock work, and signage. Sustainable factors include use of subsurface irrigation on a central control system and one median is irrigated with recycled water.

Project Program
New landscape and irrigation, trellis structures, city entry signage, curbs and existing tree preservation.
Construction Cost
$1.5 million
