Los Medanos and Diablo Valley Colleges, Contra Costa Community College District

Verde Design provided design through construction management services for improvements to the athletic facilities at two of the District’s colleges.

At Diablo Valley College, the football/soccer field was updated by retrofitting premium infill synthetic turf over the existing asphalt base, with modifications to the drainage system to accommodate the new field. An all-weather surface was installed over the asphalt base of the existing running track. Completely new D-zones were constructed for the track field events, also using an all-weather surface. The layout for track field events was adjusted to provide better flow for the events and to achieve the proper orientation for the prevailing wind and weather conditions.

The Los Medanos College stadium was redesigned and reconstructed. The new synthetic turf field was striped for football and soccer. A new all-weather running track for recreational use was placed around the perimeter of the field.
