Westmont College Athletic Facility Improvements, Santa Barbara
Verde Design provided design and construction administration services for improvements to the Westmont College Warriors' athletic facilities, which were dedicated May 6, 2010.
The Russ Carr Field is a baseball-only facility. Improvements included new turf, fines, fencing and backstops. To support the natural turf fields, new drainage and irrigation systems were installed. Verde Design also designed and specified new spectator seating and layout, new at-grade dugouts, and placement of the scoreboard and protective netting.
The new Westmont Track is an 8-lane, all-weather track designed to NCAA and NAIC standards. Located inside Westmont Track, Thorrington Field is the home of the Westmont soccer teams. The field was rebuilt with improved field grades and a state-of-the-art drainage system under the natural turf. The Warriors soccer and track fans enjoy the events from amphitheater seating built into the hillside.

The design and construction of the new athletic facility improvements were coordinated with the College and its consultant team to integrate these elements into the overall campus Master Plan improvements.
