Eastridge Little League Field, San JosÉ
On April 10, 2010, the Eastridge Little League held its Opening Day and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with over 300 guests in attendance. Dignitaries attending the event were San José Mayor Chuck Reed; State Assembly Member Paul Fong; and Vicky Galindo, softball Olympic and Team USA member. Eastridge Little League is comprised of both girls softball and boys baseball, from T-Ball through Majors. Participants, which range in age from 4 to 18, are primarily from working class Hispanic-American families. More than 240 children are expected to play in Eastridge Little League this year.
On Opening Day, the field had fresh new sod and infield, repaired back-stop and dugouts, a new electronic scoreboard, a new flagpole, and all new bases and accessories. The design for the renovation by Verde Design and O.C. Jones & Sons also included complete removal and reconstruction of the existing field, grading, new pathways, new irrigation, new fences, and regrading of an adjacent unused lot to create a warm-up and practice area.

Vicky Galindo, softball Olympic and Team USA member, autographed balls for players.
The Eastridge Little League won the "2009 TLC for Ballparks" contest sponsored by O.C. Jones & Sons, General Engineering Contractor, and KNBR Radio. The prize money, donations from area supporters, and volunteer labor made the renovations possible.
Verde Design provided pro bono design services for this community Little League field.
