Barkley Fields and Park, Woodside
Over 6 acres were donated to the Town of Woodside to build the first public community park in the Town. Verde Design's goal as prime consultant to the Town was to develop a design that would provide an inviting, accessible park for children and adults.
We conducted community and stakeholder meetings and presented conceptual designs for discussion. The selected park program included a Little League field, soccer field, play area, picnic areas, and on-site parking.
Verde Design resolved the technical challenges of the site, which included slope, serpentine rock, and bringing utilties into the park. We managed the permitting process for the Town, including obtaining the Caltrans slope permit.
