SELMA OLINDER PARK, SAN JOSÉ*

This neighborhood park is 16 acres located along Coyote Creek next to the Selma Olinder Elementary School. With part of the park on school property, planning of the project included the City, School District, and surrounding community. Master planning was completed over a two year period and included a CEQA process.

The integration of interests and needs through a consensus building process resulted in a wonderful park that also complied with the City's riparian setback policies. The project was developed with the help of the San Jose Conservation Corps.
