SAN FRANCISCO UNIFIED UPGRADES FACILITES AT FOUR HIGH SCHOOLS
Over the past four years, Verde Design has assisted the San Francisco Unified School District in implementing improvements to athletic facilities at Burton, Lincoln, and Washington High Schools, and Galileo Academy. Each of these urban schools faced very different challenges.
Burton High School's field and track were redesigned to meet the recreation needs of both the school and the neighboring communities. Our construction documents were prepared so improvements could be constructed in phases as funding became available. The first improvements were constructed in 2007; final construction was completed in 2009.
The challenge at Galileo Academy Stadium was replacing the existing field with synthetic turf within the site's tight footprint. Other upgrades included a new scoreboard and protective netting around the field. At Abraham Lincoln High School, Verde prepared designs for a new all-weather track, track field events, bleachers, scoreboard, and batting cages.
Construction at both these schools was completed in October, 2009.

Washington High School's football and soccer fans have one of the most spectacular views in the world from the stadium - the Golden Gate Bridge. We prepared the design and construction documents to renovate the stadium field, a multi-use field, and the school's track. Construction was completed in October, 2010.
