SAN JOSÉ UNIFIED RENOVATES ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC FACILITIES, SAN JOSÉ
Heavy school and community use at five urban elementary schools made it difficult for the School District to maintain the natural turf playing fields. Verde Design developed construction documents and installed synthetic turf on soccer fields and practice softball backstops. Perimeter pathways and jogging trails were resurfaced with all-weather materials. The improvements give Gardner, Grant, Empire Gardens, Lowell, and Washington Elementary Schools and their surrounding communities better and safer places to play.
Four high schools, Leland, Lincoln, Pioneer and Willow Glen, recently received renovations and improvements to their baseball, softball, and multi-use field areas. Verde Design worked closely with District and site staff to provide project design and construction management.

Renovation of the aging fields and installation of state-of-the-art irrigation systems will provide playable surfaces for years to come.
