Redwood City Parks Improvements, Redwood City

The City of Redwood City retained the services of Verde Design to upgrade several of its most heavily-used parks. We provided the services to transform the playing fields into modern sports venues.

Three fields at the Red Morton Community Center site were redesigned: Griffin-Bechet, McGarvey, and Mitchell. With the exception of the infield fines at Mitchell, all areas within the fields of play were designed with synthetic turf. At Griffin-Bechet, the field was redesigned so that it can accommodate either two concurrent baseball or softball games, or one soccer game.

The synthetic turf, new drainage systems, and new field lighting greatly increase the usability of the fields year-round.

Sandpiper and Marlin Parks also needed modernization. The City requested that Verde Design use synthetic turf within the existing soccer and baseball/softball field layouts. We were able to provide innovative and cost-effective design solutions to meet the City's needs.

Project Program
